Description

I prepare for emergencies or travel issues when I use the Sportsman Series Generator Power Inlet Box. I install it outside, where a generator can safely run. Then I will use the Generator Power Inlet Box to supply backup power to my home’s electric grid during emergencies. Four separate knockout holes and color-coded wiring make the Inlet Power Box easy to install. Firstly, a green indicator light shows when the power connection is live. Also, foam insulation and a threaded lip on the lid keep the outlet dry and weather tight.
The included 30 ft. extension cord is constructed of a heavy-duty poly/vinyl plastic construction. I know this will provide long life and durability. I like the carry strap that is included. Plus, this makes it easy for me to roll up the cord. Finally, I will transport and store the power cord without getting it tangled.

A 50 Amp Inlet Box is essential for campers who use generators to supply power to their RVs. Here’s a brief guide on how to use it:

  1. Location and Installation: First, I will mount the power inlet box securely on the exterior of my RV or camper. Next, I ensure it’s positioned in a location that’s accessible and protected from the elements.
  2. Connecting to the Generator: When I am ready to use the generator, I plug one end of a heavy-duty power cord into the 50 Amp outlet on my generator. Then I plug the other end into the power inlet box on my RV. I make sure the connections are secure and properly aligned.
  3. Switching Power Sources: Before I start the generator, I ensure that all electrical systems in the RV are turned off. This helps prevent power surges. Then I switch the generator to the ‘on’ position and let it reach its operating speed.
  4. Power Management: Once the generator is running and the power inlet box is connected, I will turn on the RV’s electrical systems. Also, I am mindful of the generator’s power capacity to avoid overloading it.
  5. Disconnecting: When I finish using the generator, first I turn it off. Then I disconnect the power cord from both the generator and the power inlet box.

Using a 50 Amp Generator Power Inlet Box ensures a safe and efficient way to power your RV while camping.
