When using a router bit, it allows me to perform various woodworking tasks and create different types of cuts and designs. Here’s my general guide on how to use a router bit set:

First, you’re going to have to educate yourself a bit. Each bit serves a specific purpose, such as creating straight cuts, decorative edges, or joinery. Learn the names and functions before you begin.

Second, choose the router bit that suits the specific task you want to accomplish. I always consider the desired cut, the type of wood you’re working with, and the depth of the cut required.

Next, I ensure the bit is inserted fully and tightened properly to avoid any accidents or slippage during operation. And I adjust depth and fence, too.

Without doubt, I always wear appropriate safety gear. This includes safety glasses, ear protection, and a dust mask. I keep my hands and fingers away from the spinning bit and ensure the router is securely held or mounted during use.
